Dry Needling

Dry needling is a skilled technique performed by a physical therapist to help manage musculoskeletal pain and movement impairment.  Dry needling is a research based treatment that involves very thin needles being inserted through the skin into dysfunctional and painful muscles.

The term “dry needle” means that no medication is injected into the body with this treatment.  When combined with other physical therapy treatments, dry needling can be effective in helping with pain management, decreasing muscle tension and spasms, and improving range of motion.  When you come into the clinic at Peak Physical Therapy, your physical therapist will perform a comprehensive evaluation of your musculoskeletal system to determine if dry needling is an option for you to enhance your recovery.

Dry needling can be a treatment option for conditions such as:
Neck, low back, hip knee, shoulder, elbow pain
Chronic pain conditions
Headache
Athletic overuse injuries
Muscle spasms
