Weeks 1–2
Pain
Calm the pain down.
Hands-on techniques calm the irritated joint and take the edge off inflammation, starting your very first visit.
What We Treat
The stiffness that doesn’t loosen up until you’ve been moving for ten minutes. The ache in your knees or back that seems to have opinions about the weather. It’s fixable, and it starts with a cause-first evaluation, not a guess.

Why It Happens
Your joints don’t get stiff and inflamed for no reason. And it’s almost never just one thing. It’s usually some mix of four culprits: cartilage that’s worn down and lost its cushioning. Joints that got stiff and stopped moving through their full range. Muscles around the joint that quietly weakened and stopped sharing the load. And daily habits, how much you sit, how you move, that keep the inflammation simmering instead of settling down.
None of that shows up on a quick glance. It takes a real, cause-first evaluation to sort out which one is actually driving your pain. That’s why rest, ice, or a generic stretching sheet so often falls short: they treat the symptom, not the source. Find the real cause, and the fix gets obvious. Most people with arthritis kept gardening, working, and lifting grandkids long after their joints started complaining, and that same refusal to slow down is why starting a real plan now beats waiting for the joint to force the issue.
The Honest Truth
Nobody regrets starting too early. Every week, someone in our clinic says they regret waiting.
How We Fix It
Every plan has an endpoint. Here’s what the four phases look like for arthritis.
Weeks 1–2
Pain
Hands-on techniques calm the irritated joint and take the edge off inflammation, starting your very first visit.
Weeks 2–6
Prime
Targeted mobility work restores motion in the stiff joints that have been quietly guarding themselves.
Weeks 6–10
Perform
Progressive strengthening builds the support around the joint that arthritis has been wearing down.
Weeks 10+
Prevent
Movement, lifting, and daily mechanics get tested under real load before you’re cleared to go all-in: that’s the endpoint, not just another appointment.
There are two over the top amazing humans that work there. The first is the front desk receptionist on the right side (female). She has such a big heart and truly loves her job.

Questions, Answered
Usually not, and it’s rarely the first step. Imaging often shows wear and tear in joints that don’t hurt at all, so a scan doesn’t always explain your specific pain. We start with a hands-on evaluation to find what’s actually driving your stiffness and pain, and if imaging ever becomes genuinely necessary, we’ll help you get it. You don’t have to wait on a scan to start feeling better.
Yes, in most cases movement helps more than rest does. Hurt doesn’t always mean harm, staying still tends to make joints stiffer and weaker, which sets up the next flare-up. The key is dosing the right movement for your specific joints, which is exactly what a Doctor of PT sorts out at your evaluation, then progresses safely as you improve.
Most patients feel meaningful change within 4–6 visits. A full plan for arthritis runs through all four phases, Pain, Prime, Perform, and Prevent, typically over 8–10 weeks, depending on how long you’ve been dealing with it. Either way, you get a plan with an endpoint: you’ll always know which phase you’re in and what’s left, not an open-ended string of appointments.
