“When I was first introduced to the McKenzie Method, I had been practicing as a physical therapist for a couple of years and becoming very frustrated. I thought I had chosen the wrong career. I felt as if I was spinning my wheels and not helping people the way I had envisioned while in school. Many patients would in fact get better, but often not a full recovery, and getting them better would take months. It seemed they would have to keep coming back to remain better, and this was never the goal of physical therapy.I was then approached by a colleague, suggesting I try taking a course for the McKenzie Method. He explained through this, he has finally been able to give patients the PT they deserve and evaluate/treat patients the right way to make a difference. At my first Part A course, I was hooked. This unique way to evaluate a patient’s problem and treat them accordinglywas unlike anything I had ever seen in physical therapy….and the best part, it worked! I watched as the course instructors would take live patients or course attendee who had a problem and rapidly decrease or eliminate their pain. When the patient returned for their follow up, after being given the specific exercise for self-treatment, the difference was remarkable. The McKenzie Method MDT has been invaluable to me as a clinician, allowing me to provide the best service possible for my patients.” – Dr. Brianna Landry, DPT, cert, MDT
